Under 8 Team

What is Under 8? A player is deemed to be Under 8 if they are aged 7 at midnight on 31st August of a playing season (typically School Year 3).

We are committed to providing a fun and safe environment for players of all abilities to learn and develop their footballing skills!

WE ARE NOW WELCOMING NEW PLAYERS FOR THE 2024/25 SEASON! Training sessions on Fridays 5.30pm-6.30pm at Fogwell Road starting 13th September. Please contact us if you are interested in joining. We would love to hear from you!

Match & Training Info

The football season runs from September to May. Matches and training sessions are typically scheduled during school term time. Players are expected to make every effort to be available for all matches and training sessions during the season. Pre-season training sessions may be scheduled during the summer holidays. Please contact us if you would like more information.

Match Format

The standard Laws of the Game apply to all football at all ages, but special provisions apply for youth football. These provisions change as as the players progress through the age groups. Here is a summary of the key provisions for Under 8 football:

Goal Size: 6 x 12 ft

Number of players: 5-a-side

Match Length: 40 minutes (20 mins each way)

Offside: NO

Pitch Size: 30 x 40 yd

Ball Size: 3

Subs: Unlimited

Red/Yellow Cards: NO
